History
Incarnation Lutheran Church (ILC) was chartered January 2, 1921, as a mission church for the many Lutherans in the Shandon neighborhood who traveled downtown to church. The original wooden church building was located on the current site, facing Sims Street. This building was used for many years, even after the current sanctuary, the second stone church on the site, was completed on January 3, 1960.
Incarnation is a member of the South Carolina Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
