Pastor Emily Willhide
[email protected]

Pastor Emily Willhide is originally from Palmyra, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Penn State University with a degree in organic chemistry before enrolling at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, graduating from that institution in 2003. In the years before her ordination in 2009, she worked in Lutheran churches in Phoenix, AZ, Albuquerque, NM, and Wichita Falls, TX, as well as in an ecumenical capacity with the Chaplain Corps at Kadena AB in Okinawa, Japan. Pastor Emily was ordained in 2009 at Incarnation Lutheran Church in Columbia, SC, and served there for two years. An Air Force assignment moved her family to Las Vegas, NV for three years, where she served as Senior Interim Pastor at Reformation Lutheran Church.  Most recently, Pastor Emily served at Mt Tabor and Faith Lutheran churches in West Columbia, SC, before accepting the call to come back to Incarnation Lutheran Church.

Pastor Emily has a deep love of preaching, teaching, and exploring the word of God through both conventional and unconventional means. She believes that God prepares his people through word and sacrament in order to send them out to proclaim the good news of Christ crucified and risen. She also believes, preaches, and teaches that God loves all people, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, or ability, and that people of faith are called to love and live just as inclusively.

Looking for Faith Formation Minister

Incarnation Lutheran Church seeks to call a part-time Faith Formation Minister with the opportunity for full time hours and benefits through additional hours/ministry at our Child Development Center. The Faith Formation Minister will enable children, youth, and young adults to grow in their Christian discipleship while working to deepen their relationships with Christ, the church, each other, and their communities by helping them live out their faith in daily life.
