Maundy Thursday
Service at 6:15pm
Maundy Thursday, also known as Holy Thursday, is the day before Good Friday. It commemorates Jesus Christ’s last supper and the initiation of Holy Communion (the Eucharist). On this evening, we hear Jesus give the disciples the commandment to “love one another as I have loved you.” Through the act of foot washing, we recall his deep love for his disciples as he stooped to be their servant, washing their feet. We watch as the altar and chancel are stripped in preparation for the dark day of Good Friday.

Good Friday
12 Noon - Intimate midday service in our Sanctuary chancel
6:15pm - Evening service at Incarnation Lutheran
Good Friday occurs two days before Easter Sunday. It is the day when Christians commemorate Jesus Christ's crucifixion. We will worship using the ancient Tenebrae Service which beautifully combines Old Testament prophecy, New Testament fulfillment, moving music sung by choir and congregation, and we leave the sanctuary in silence, remembering that Joseph of Arimathea has laid the body of Jesus in a new tomb.

Now we join in the celebration of all heaven and earth as we proclaim Christ’s resurrection from the dead and his triumph over sin, death and the devil – all for the sake of the world, for our sake.
