The Child Development Centers are one of the most important missions of our church family. Child- oriented and designed to meet individual developmental needs, we respect each child’s individual growth rate and impose no arbitrary standards on any child.
We offer two locations: Byron Road, near the Veterans' Administration Hospital, and Devine Street, next door to our church. Byron Road provides childcare from 6 weeks to 4 years on a full-time-only basis. Devine Street offers part-time as well as full-time childcare, and an after-school program with pick-up at Brennen and Rosewood Elementary Schools. Children can enjoy exercise classes, karate and chapel every week.
The rooms provide an orderly, functional background for a creative program. Each room is a child-sized world where a child can explore and learn alone or in a group. Because he/she has a feeling of being understood, loved, and respected, he/she can develop a sense of self worth and fulfill his/her potential as a child of God.
We provide a happy Christian environment in which the children can grow physically, socially, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. We accept each child as an individual and provide opportunities for self-expression, investigation, and participation in group activities, and allow each child the opportunity to grow and develop at his/her own pace, always encouraged and guided by caring adults. We also provide the opportunity for Church, home, and school to work together in meeting the needs of the children, and work with other communities within the congregation and with other community groups as deemed logical and necessary to meet the needs of the children.
